While government legislation has, for many years, compelled companies to protect employees’ health and safety at work, progressive employers are increasingly supporting them with issues relating to their emotional wellbeing.  But this is the future for all companies.  

Stress and interrelated illnesses now head the list of employee sickness absence in the UK and the Association of Insurers and Risk Management have stated that...
 

 “….work related stress is the largest cause of working days lost through injury or ill health.  Stress is likely to become the most dangerous emergency risk in the early part of the 21st century.” 

As a result, the Health and Safety Commission has announced that “….an organisation’s ability to prevent and manage work related stress will be one of the priority topics that the Health and Safety Executive will be pursuing in future visits to workplaces.”
